Residency Programs

In 2015, our first residency program was born with the goal of promoting, developing, and collaborating with instances of thought, action, and encounter for local and international artists. Currently, we offer:

Collective Residency: A shared living and studio experience for 3 artists. Exclusive cycle: July and September.
Full Residency: A tailor-made, individual or private group experience with personalized process accompaniment and a Solo Show. Available in May, June, August, October, and November.

About Us

We are a team of cultural managers and Latin American artists from diverse disciplines. We provide professional and affective accompaniment for every residency developed at Casa Belgrado, offering a situated perspective from the Cono Sur (Southern Cone). Our goal is to actively connect residents with the cultural ecosystem of the Balvanera neighborhood—the place we call home.

We welcome artists from all disciplines and especially value projects that propose intersections and hybrid formats of research, composition, and presentation. We are interested in supporting processes, pieces, or experiences that blur the boundaries between performing, visual, and sound arts.

We have a particular (though not exclusive) interest in proposals exploring themes such as: borders, migration, territory, community, history, heritage, and the margins.

The Neighborhood: Balvanera

Balvanera has been historically characterized as a home for various immigrant communities. Today, it remains an eclectic and cosmopolitan blend of identities and cultures, resulting in a unique offering of traditional trades, diverse gastronomy, and vibrant local life.

Within this territory, iconic areas of Buenos Aires coexist: the surroundings of the National Congress; Abasto, with its undeniable cultural heritage; and Once, with its historic train station and inexhaustible energy as one of the city’s densest commercial and popular hubs.

For us, this singular coexistence of nationalities and histories makes Balvanera a living, dynamic environment—the ideal context to nurture any artistic research process.
